| i realize i need to start a blog that i actually update regularly. or two, one personal and one for my new career as a professional blogger (do those exist foreal?)
i can't believe it's been 3 months since that win over the mavs...and j-rich is gone, and the afc asian cup's come and gone, the slsq chamber music seminar happened, i've started and finished (for now) my career as a management consultant, and i'm sitting in taipei wondering what to eat tomorrow. oh, and i graduated from college. andddd...i'm moving to nyc in like 2 weeks (!?) to become a homeless musician.
i guess i'm at what some would call a crossroads in life. and no, i'm not talking about bone thugs, or b-diddy's high school alma mater.
But my perception smoothes out the inflection points on the trajectory of life, sometimes so that i don't recognize the important turning points where i need to make adjustments. if anyone needed a "life consultant" it would be me. haha
where do i provide the most value to myself and to the world?

| Warriors 111, Mavericks 86.
this game and the series were an inspiration. an expression of solidarity and irreverence, emotion and swagger? i couldn't be prouder to be a warriors fan, bay area native, one who can relate to the misfit characters on the team. am i crazy for feeling like jax, boom dizzle and barnes are kindred spirits? not to mention j-rich, andris, everyone down the line to adonal foyle.
tomorrow's another day, but i'll feel like being able to do anything cuz of these guys. thanks, and see you in the 2nd round.

| RIP Mstislav Rostropovich (1927-2007)
glad i got to hear him a couple of years ago...though far from his prime...
on a brighter note
RIP Dallas Mavericks MUAHAHA

for now i'll settle for the WARRIORS in the playoffs!

| you see it in the people around you (or at least i do). uncommon aptitude + uncommon discipline = uncommon results. or, like me, common aptitude + bad discipline = mediocrity. =b
first half of warriors game last night was interesting. blowing away the hottest team in the league (mavs)? pretty sweet. but looking at the first half, my still basketball-illiterate self thought...discipline!
offensively, having baron back is obviously huge. can you say bubbling cauldron of creative and technical talent, not to mention cockiness dangerously bordering on hubris? it's so yay area. (tho b-diddy's outta SoCal) Monta is great too, he's more the conscious type...outwardly humble and stays outta trouble, but the finishes, drives, exude "i know i'm the SHIT" all over. if only JR could dribble...
but the real story for this blog entry is defense, cuz i just thought about everything they could do if they had the discipline to play decent transition defense. I suppose that's an oxymoron in a way because you're supposed to have good offensive possessions in order not to have to play transition defense. half-court defense was surprisingly ok against Dirk, JT and Co. Also, the W's are athletic enough to catch up in transition...sigh. wait til next year, AGAIN.
